Many artists would like to join the Open Studios Tour but are unable to do so because their home is not suitable for hosting an art tour or because of health concerns. Online studios is a program that was piloted in 2021 that allows those artists to participate by presenting their art online. Online studios will be expanded for 2023 with artist selection happening in February and episodes airing in the Spring of 2023. Online Studios is made possible by a grant from the Hillsboro Arts and Culture Council.

Washington County ONLINE Studios is a new program featuring video episodes of local artists in their studios, to reach art lovers year-round. ONLINE Studios is an expansion of the annual in-person Open Studios tour weekend, where artists open their studios to the public to share their process and showcase their artwork.
ARTISTS in Washington County who are unable to open their studios to the public – this is for you! Your studio can be your kitchen table, the local park, an after school program, or a traditional studio space that you can’t open to the public during the tour weekend. Musicians and performance groups are welcomed and can apply as a group.
There is no fee to the artist to apply and no cost to the artist if accepted. This is an excellent opportunity for artists and we anticipate that there will be more applications than spaces available. Priority will be given to applicants who live in Washington County, Oregon.
Applications may be submitted between February 1st and March 1st, selection will happen after that. We reserve the right to close the application window early if there are more applications than expected. Parental consent is required for applicants under the age of 18.
We will begin filming episodes in early 2023.
