Media: Botanicals
Artist’s Statement: As a Pacific NW native, the energy, vibrance and pureness of Nature has always fascinated me. I have dedicated my life to creating art that stays as close to the natural source material as possible. First, I gather organics from the earth, the air and the sea to create my perfectly limitless “palette.” Flower petals, foliage, moss, lichen, bark, seeds, pollen, marine flora and gossamers all lend radiant color, line, form and texture as my “brushstrokes.” I “paint,” by carefully arranging pressed and dried botanicals with tweezers, glue, and a magnifying glass. I call these artistic renderings “Floral Impressionisms.” I enjoy translating how I see everyday sights using everyday elements to support our community and natural resources.
