We understand that not every artist has a studio that they can open to the public during the Washington County Open Studios Tour weekend. Maybe you live in a small apartment, maybe you share a rental house. Maybe there is limited parking. Whatever the reason, we may be able to help find you a space to be on the tour.
There are two ways that guest artists can participate in the tour. One is called the Reser Popup Collective, the other is to find another artist who is willing to host you.
Being Hosted by Another Tour Artist
In the past, artists have had to make their own arrangements if they wish to share a studio with another artist. This is still the best option if you know another artist who is applying. If you do not know of an artist who can host you, we are offering to help with the matchmaking. In a studio shared by two artists the fee is $125 each. Artist registration closed on April 18th. While we were not able to pair up all interested artists we were able to make one match.
The Reser Pop-up Collective
The Reser Popup collective is a room on the second floor of the Reser Center where multiple artists each get table space where they can demonstrate and sell their work. The cost will be $75 per artist. Applications for the Reser Popup will take place at a date after our regular artist applications have closed in late April. If there are more applications than table spaces, priority will be given to volunteers and to emerging artists with no studio space. The Reser Pop-up collective will be promoted the same way as any other studio collective, there will be an entry in the Map Guide but individual artists will not be listed in the Map Guide.
We are still working out the details and will update this page as they become available. Artists will need to load in on the morning of October 18th and tear down on the evening of the 19th.
