  • Update on 2025 Mentorship Program

2024 Watercolor mentorship – Suchitra Komandur with JoAnn Pari-Mueller

    Hello fellow artists!

This year, to accommodate artist’s busy schedules, we are planning the WCAA Mentorship program a little differently- with 2 separate start dates. Those of you who signed up for the mentorship program in January will be hearing from Linda and Sam this week to start the first phase however, we have 6 spots left in the program for the second phase and this is where YOU are needed! If you have a desire to mentor someone who is curious about your medium and pass down your practice, techniques and love of art- please attend our March 16 Artist Meeting!  Linda and Sam will be in attendance to answer questions and there will be a sign up form as well! For further questions, please send us a message via our contact form on our website, we’d love to hear from you!:

Below is a message from Natasha Kobbe about something new that we are doing to promote the artists.

    Hello, Artists!

  • Introducing our New Board Member Sam Combs

Introducing our New Board Member Sam Combs

We would like to welcome Sam Combs as a new member of the Washington County Art Alliance’s board.

Sam has enjoyed being creative since childhood but did not truly embrace her inner artist until 2015, experimenting with watercolor. Sam painted mostly for her enjoyment and escape from the medical field for a few years, learning via social media tutorials and lessons.
Summer of 2023 was transformational as Sam found the expressive instant beauty of soft pastels and began to feel the call of pursuing art as a career and what that means.

When Sam is not painting or working as a nurse, she enjoys gardening, baking, photography, caring for her ducks, dogs and cats and traveling with her husband. She is very excited to be a part of the WCAA Board of Directors!

  • Introducing our new board member, Natasha Kobbe

Introducing our new board member, Natasha Kobbe

As January comes to a close and we continue to look forward to all that this year has to offer, we have the pleasure of announcing Natasha Kobbe’s induction into the Washington County Art Alliance Board of Directors this week!

    About Natasha:
Natasha experienced the loss of her mother and step father within one year of each other in 2019 and intuitively turned to watercolor to help her work through her grief and pain. Natasha fell in love with the watercolor medium and some time after, she discovered the magical abilities of soft pastel. Natasha continues to work with both watercolor and soft pastel as well as with monotype printing press techniques; she enjoys the differences between these mediums and feels that the trio help train her brain and skill set effectively. Natasha’s art is inspired by mother nature and her persistent studies of subject matter that interest her. She’s also an animal lover and owns a hobby chicken farm in Hillsboro and because she cares for her pasture raised chickens so well, she is rewarded with tasty eggs! Natasha’s heart for art, her strive to always do her best and give her all makes her a wonderful addition to the WCAA Board of Directors!
