11. Amy Bennett

Media: Cut paper, ink, and graphite.

Artist’s Statement: My art is an exploration of the aesthetic potential of the alphabet, where letterforms are liberated from the confines of language and transformed into narrative abstractions. Through intricate cut paper and ink designs, I construct visual journeys meant to be experienced rather than deciphered. The tactile experience is central, with each piece telling a story through light, shadow, and form, particularly with the papercutting technique. This approach utilizes the positive space of cutouts and reimagines the negative space, weaving it into new stories that echo original themes. My pieces are conversations with the viewer, offering a fluid expression that transcends simple alphabet forms, inviting personal discovery within universal themes.
